Alba belongs in the wild -
Help give Alba her Island
Rare, albino orangutan, Alba needs your help. She has passed quarantine and as a wild orangutan, is ready to get back to her forest home.
But her special condition - her colour and health related issues (for sight and hearing), means that Alba needs more safety than other orangutans.
To help Alba live a free and fulfilling life, we need your help to make her a forest island home. With your help, we can give Alba and a few of her orangutan friends, 5 hectares of lush rainforest where they can live free in their natural habitat, all while being protected from the threat of humans.
To make this possible - we need to raise $79,000. It's a big sum but if we all work together, we can help give Alba her island.

YOUR GIFT OF $35 COULD HELP:
build important infrastructure on Alba's island - like feeding platforms. These structures are where our teams will place food several times a day for Alba and her friends.
Feeding platforms allow Alba to get enough food, without human interaction, but also be observed everyday to check she is safe and doing well.

establish canals around the island. This is an important safety aspect of her new forest home.
Canals around the island keep Alba and her friends safe on the island, while also keeping unwanted human visitors out.
Our teams will regularly canoe around the island to monitor Alba and the other orangutans with her.

transport Alba and her orangutan friends to their new forest island home, including the boat and land transport vehicles.
Safe transportation of an orangutan is complicated and requires sedation, expert veterinary care and lots of manpower. We need all hands on deck to move such precious cargo.
